Most of the people knows that, Gallium is one of the metal which can melt on the palm of our hand. But, Gallium is not the only metal which can melt on palm of our hand.

There are two more metals. In this blog we will discuss “Unknown fact Metals can melt on palm of our hand”.

What is palm of hands?


The anterior part of the hand present in the central region is called as palm.

There are total Three Metals which can melt on the palm of our hand: Gallium, Cesium, Francium.

1] Gallium


Appearance (Color) of Gallium is like “Silver blue”.

Its atomic number is “31”.

Symbolically it is represented by “Ga”.

Melting point of gallium in degree Celsius is 29.77º C.

Melting point of gallium in Fahrenheit is 85.59º F.

Reason: why gallium melts on the palm of our hand?

As you know that, the temperature of a human body is 38° C and to melt a Gallium metal there is required 29.77º C. That means, temperature of our body is more than the temperature required to melt the Gallium. This is a reason Gallium melts on the palm of our hand.

2] Cesium


Appearance (Color) of Cesium is like “Pale Gold”.

Its atomic number is “55”.

Symbolically it is represented by “Cs”.

Melting point of Cesium in degree Celsius is 28.4º C.

Melting point of Cesium in Fahrenheit is 83.12º F.

Reason: why Cesium melts on the palm of our hand?

As you know that, the temperature of a human body is 38° C and to melt a Cesium metal there is required 28.4º C. That means, temperature of our body is more than the temperature required to melt the Cesium. This is a reason Cesium melts on the palm of our hand.

3] Francium


Appearance (Color) of Francium is like “Metallic”.

Its atomic number is “87”.

Symbolically it is represented by “Fr”.

Melting point of Francium in degree Celsius is 27.00º C.


Melting point of Francium in Fahrenheit is 80.60º F.

Reason: why Francium melts on the palm of our hand?

As you know that, the temperature of a human body is 38° C and to melt a Francium metal there is required 28.4º C. That means, temperature of our body is more than the temperature required to melt the Francium. This is a reason Francium melts on the palm of our hand.
